Former Pakistan Test cricketer Khan Mohammad was a fast bowler, and played his first Test in 1952 against India. He had the honour of bowling first ball and taking first wicket for Pakistan.
Khan Mohammad was living in England for the last four decades after representing Pakistan in 13 Tests. Khan Mohammad became famous as Fazal Mahmood’s new ball partner and his death leaves just three surviving members of the first Test that Pakistan played in New Delhi in 1952 to mark their entry into the world cricket.
Khan Mohammad had been running a travel agency in Ealing, London for years after he decided to settle in the UK where he became a qualified MCC coach and ran his own coaching school besides coaching for nearly two years at the MCC indoor school. He also served as a bowling coach of the Pakistan team for a number of years and is credited for spotting pacer Aaqib Javed.
